Olivera Durbaba <\/b>(1967) is a full professor at the Department of German Studies, Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade, where she teaches undergraduate, graduate and PhD courses in Applied Linguistics, German and Educational Linguistics. She received her doctorate in 2005 at the University of Leipzig (FR Germany), with the topic Pressetexte in Lehrwerken f\u00fcr Deutsch als Fremdsprache. Auswahl und Didaktisierung <\/i>\/Newspaper texts in textbooks for German as a Foreing Language. Selection and didactization\/<\/i>. She was a visiting professor at the University of Osnabr\u00fcck, the University of Saarland (Germany), the University of Bern (Switzerland), the Universities of Banjaluka, Sarajevo, Tuzla (Bosnia and Herzegovina). Her research interests lay in the areas of applied linguistics, foreign language learning and teaching, language policy and planning. She has authored two monographs (Teorija i praksa u\u010denja i nastave stranih jezika \/<\/i> Theory and practice of learning and teaching foreign languages\/; Kultura i nastava stranih jezika. Uvod u interkulturnu glotodidaktiku \/<\/i> Culture and teaching of foreign languages. Introduction to intercultural second language acquisition\/<\/i>), co-authored several grammars and textbooks, and co-edited two monographic publications, on current research on language and society (with Julijana Vu\u010do) and on language education policy and planning (with Jelena Filipovi\u0107). She has also authored and co-authored several dozens of articles in academic journals and monographic publications. Since 2016 she has been editor of the scientific journal \u201c\u017divi jezici\u201c. She has been engaged in a number of national and international projects in the areas of language education policies, foreign and second language teaching and learning, curriculum design and development, and heritage language maintenance.<\/p>\n
